If any of you read Toasteroven's blog, you will know that his latest post has a title similar to mine. I assure you I am not trying to copy you my precious friend...
Wednesday6th April 5.30pm.
Get a phone call from a friend of mine who has been chasing my husband's sister for the past two years... He called me on my mobile and when I said that I was driving, he asked if I was alone in the car. I have a hands free kit (so no laws were being broken) and he is aware that sometimes I have clients in the car (work with people with disabilities) or friends etc... We have had a really close relationship leading up to the wedding because our personalities even each other out and we help each other with problems in our relationships etc. He depends on me, I depend on him. Everyone (including my husband) is comfortable with this.
Anyway, to his question "was I alone", I answered "why? You want to talk dirty to me?" and ofcourse I laughed. He replied with a straight forward "yes". The conversation took a really strange course and while I was laughing and joking with him it began to become evident that he was not joking. Following finishing the conversation I recieved a text message from him saying that he had been thinking about me for the past few months and wondered if we could ever... you know?...
I was utterly shocked and was unable to reply.
Saturday 9th April 1am - 3am.
Had a BBQ with a few friends and a few of them were drinking. The best man at my wedding and his girlfriend (probably my closest friend) have just moved in with my husband and I until they find a place for themselves. It helps us out too cos we split the rent etc..
Him and I were the last ones standing - he was drinking and I wasn't. We were chatting about him trying to be more like God cos he admits that he has a drinking problem (threw Corrinthians 5:18 at him). He has just become a Christian and he is struggling with the whole thing a bit. So he'd get teary about stuff and I'd put my arm around him and we'd hug but then we'd get back to talking.
I had to go to bed when he decided that he needed to try and plant one on me. He told me that all he could think about was me cos I had been listening to him for the past few weeks and it seemed, to him, that I knew him better than he knew himself. Oh, and to top it off, he confessed his love for me.
Great...
What is it about me right now that put men (well two) in a spin?? Is it that I have now made a covanent with Steve and with God and this upsets them??? Am I the' one that got away'? It makes feel insecure and uneasy now about the friendship that we have...
